From the market
We grow over 60 different vegetables throughout the course of a season. Early Spring – we start things off with lots of GREENS- Arugula, bok choy, tat soi, spinach, baby kale mix, lettuce mix, Asian greens mix, watercress, radishes, Hakurei turnips, ramps, scallions, komatsuna, and baby lettuce heads. PLANT SALES ARE BACK!!!!! Mid to late Spring - most of the early crops are still being harvested- Add in kale, collard and Swiss chard bunches, lettuce heads, escarole, broccolini, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, carrots, garlic scapes, kohlrabi, sugar snap peas, scallions, strawberries, herbs. Summer – As the heat kicks in, many of the greens fade out, replaced by the summer favorites- green beans, cabbages, cucumbers, summer squash, onions, garlic, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, hot peppers, fennel, celery, potatoes, melons Fall – the root vegetables keep growing strong, but we shift away from tomatoes and cucumbers with fall greens coming back – spinach, arugula, dandelion greens, baby mixes, kale, collards, chard, escarole, bok choy, mustard greens, lettuces, tat soi, ginger, turmeric We supplement the market with some certified organic vegetables and grains by partnering with other local farms: Mushrooms from Two River Gourmet Mushrooms. Soap handmade from local organic ingredients from Storybrook Soap. Whole grains, whole grain flours and legumes from Cold Brook Farm and River Valley Community Grains.
