Privacy policy

The short version

This is a static website. It has no user accounts, no database and no server-side code, so there is nowhere for us to store anything about you even if we wanted to.

Location

The “near me” feature asks your browser for your coordinates and uses them to sort a list that has already been downloaded to your device. The coordinates are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and are discarded when you leave the page. Declining the permission prompt costs you nothing but the sorting.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and collects an approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not upload any personal identifiers to it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, that is honoured by the analytics provider where the law requires it.

Advertising

Ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and review vendor practices at aboutads.info/choices.

Forms and email

If you send a correction or email us, we keep what you send for as long as it takes to act on it, and we use your email address only to reply. We do not add you to any list or sell contact details.

Embedded maps

Market pages embed a map from OpenStreetMap. Loading it means your browser contacts openstreetmap.org, which sees your IP address under its own privacy policy.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Residents of California, the EU/UK and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws have rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Since the only personal data we ever hold is an email you chose to send us, a request to hello@farmersmarketatlas.com is enough to exercise any of them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new date at the top.
